Any Canadians/Americans watching this hockey game?
Just wanted to know if there are a few fans of Hockey here.
For many, this USA/Canada semi-Final game is perceived as the Final game because the odds are very strong that the winner of this game will beat the winner of the other semi-final game (whether it's Sweden or Finland).
The game starts at noon Est.

Yeah, I'm a hockey fan. I'll be watching the game. The women's final yesterday was intense.
Do you follow the NHL?

Yes of course. My local team's goalie (Carey Price) is the one that's in Canada's goal right now. So far so good, 0-0 after 1st period.DroidVoid wrote:Yeah, I'm a hockey fan. I'll be watching the game. The women's final yesterday was intense.

Wow, is it me or the skating is super fast, even faster than on the Stanley Cup finals?

Hahahahaha. I should have guessed that you're a Habs fan. I'm a Canucks fan. I am supporting Canada but I'm also a huge Kesler fan, so yeah.
The US team has got some WHEELS man. They're really fast.
Last 5 minutes of the game.....So much adrenaline :O

No love for Pacioretty? Hahaha.
Well, that was scary. I think a win against Sweden is almost guaranteed. Hate to say this, but the Canadian team this time is slightly overrated. The players are great and stuff, I'll be the first to admit that...but I really do think that the US was a better team this time. Meh, we'll take the win

Re: Any Canadians/Americans watching this hockey game?
Hehe, tell me about it. It was so strange to see your own player trying to score in his own goalie's net. I don't think that Carey would have like that and who knows, it may even affect their partnership here when they both come back.DroidVoid wrote:No love for Pacioretty? Hahaha.

I wouldn't say that. I think I remember Sweden winning against Canada once.DroidVoid wrote:I think a win against Sweden is almost guaranteed.
Yeah the US played better before this game with an average of 3-4 goals per game while for the Canadians we had 1-2 goals per game or so but they FINALLY woke up during THIS GAME.
It's not that the US played better, it's more about Canada falling asleep during the first games. When Canada played to their skill level then you saw a game like this which was SUPER FAST (in the 1st period that is) so again, they woke up at the right time.
Hope they don't fall back to sleep because it could cost us the goal. Yeah we are good but lets not be cocky here and pretend we will beat Sweden 8-1.

Re: Any Canadians/Americans watching this hockey game?
Yeah, I remember Kesler playing against Luongo in the gold medal game in 2010. It was intense, especially because both players were technically playing on home ice, and for once everyone in Vancouver was rooting against Kesler.
Team USA has come a really long way though. Canada is meant to "own" hockey, but USA is slowly becoming just as strong. They have skill, speed and drive. It was amazing to watch.
Sweden is a pretty good team but they're comparatively slower. Also, I think it will be slightly intimidating for them to be playing against the defending champs. Odds are in favour in Canada, but anything can happen. Can't wait

Maybe it's because we play once or twice against Vancouver but I thought that you were talking about KESSLE the Toronto Maple Leaf player.DroidVoid wrote:Yeah, I remember Kesler playing against Luongo in the gold medal game in 2010. I said oh yeah they do have a Kesler over there.
Anyway, great game guys and see ya Sunday morning. It will be at 7 AM Est. so about 4 AM in Vancouver. Ouch.
