RV and Paramotor: Living THE life
RV and Paramotor: Living THE life
Not sure if there are fans of RVs here but I am getting more and more interested in those because you can save a ton of $$ in hotel and restaurants fees while you are seeing the country.
You just load the RV at the local grocery store and then go for weeks without even going to the restaurants. Nothing wrong about going there but you go once in a while when you want to and not 3 times per day because you just have to eat.
By watching a few RV videos on Youtube, I found that this Class B RV van, the Serenity model, would be perfect for me.

Not too short, not too long, it has everything you need and can still go through any drive-thru no problem. Which the huge Class A (Bus like RV) and the Class C RVs (large Winnebago style) cannot do.

I am looking for an RV that has enough storage space on the outside to be able to store my paramotor so that you travel and if I like a spot, I stop the RV, assemble the paramotor and just go fly around the block for a few minutes. Come back, put the paramotor in the RV and continue my trip.
In this clip, Byron has disassembled his and put in inside his tent for the night. When it's time to go, he puts it back together and flay away. They call this "Fly Camping".

Now THAT is THE LIFE.

Re: Living the RV life
I gotta admit, it'd be pretty sick to go on road trips in an RV
Re: RV and Paramotor: Living THE life
Merlin Ey,Merlin quips--They call this "Fly Camping".
been" fly fishing" is this an off shoot of the above to the utmost..
In the casino and this dood was playing the Flaming 7's progressive slot--praying and crossing before each pull left the floor broke..Passed by on my way out and no one had won yet. That dood was being "played" by his beliefs.Sucker bets..
BTW neat little RV--are they smokers or Gasoline ??Fuel here is over 4 $ US Gallon..Diesel and Gasoline..Now there is talk of 30% tax hike.. .

Smokers As in Diesel I guess?wireman wrote:BTW neat little RV--are they smokers or Gasoline ??Fuel here is over 4 $ US Gallon..Diesel and Gasoline..Now there is talk of 30% tax hike.. .

Yeah it's diesel alright but no black smoke coming out of the pipes not even a loud sound. Super quiet.
All this will be possible if I make this trading system to work and once it does, I will say "who cares about the tax hike, bring it on baby".

This car-gyrocopter looks good but as an aircraft technician I know how complex a helicopter can be and right there I see way too many moving and folding parts and that is looking for trouble.
Also, since this does not fit into the "ultralight vehicles" category, you will need a "certificate of airworthiness" to be able to fly it and most countries in the world won't allow it to fly there so you will be kinda stuck with a cool toy but can't really use it because it won't pass these tough safety standards.
I prefer my little paramotor. At least if my engine stalls, I got my parachute to bring me down safely to the ground and by being an ultralight vehicle, I don't need this aircraft certificate of airworthiness so I can bring it with me around the globe in just 1 big box.
Watch this clip, Dell brings his paramotor with him in a plane to the Bahamas and then uses it to fly to a remote desert island. One of the coolest video you will ever seen.

Now thats how you truly get high off of life
Re: RV and Paramotor: Living THE life
Merlin Ey!--sunnyseize Hey,Merlin wise as an owl== looks good but as an aircraft technician I know how complex a helicopter can be and right there I see way too many moving and folding parts and that is looking for trouble.
Pretty neat unit but ,been on a few bird missions, some big, mostly smaller birds..Those damn things are so tricky to fly.. shouldn't even be in the air.. , heart in my throat each time in the air..Looking at that bird, pusher prop and rotor, parts --to damn many--you'd need all of Merlin's market -winning for the upkeep..Maintenance on one of those would run in the minutes--not hourly.. I can see licensing etc..I flew w/a pilot or two that flew like that guy flying and driving, crazy bastards..but they had reasons to.
Paramotoring oh so much safer..and laid back.. and your Azz is covered..safety wise..
wireman Good find --but stressing Paramotoring
