Yes, I believe that's why. You can change anything in life, if you can change the reality in your dreams, or you can hold an image of a different thing while you are awake you can do it everywhere, same laws always.
However I believe we don't want to attract things that quick, unless we are estables, you know, if we can be in a permanent state by choice manifesting things faster would be great, that's why we need discipline if we have bad thoughts, we need habits, focus, when we find ourselves having bad thoughts we need to change that immediately because we can learn to be good at that too. I agree with you, if we try to manifest things using any technique, reading, learning, sharing, we are close to achieve that but of course we need to be in a good state of mind. One thing is great I believe is being in a expectation state, I mean not anxiety but waiting for "that" thing in a good way and now I remember a video I've watched about EFT a while ago where people were commenting their results.
This is the video

Btw, we did this with my mom one day (not tapping), just saying "Great things are coming into our lives" or something like that, and then 4 o 5 days later we received a call from a guy who wanted us to work in a project, but the weird thing is that we just said it, but I remember we said those 2 lines believing it, just 10 secs, we really expect for that things to come for 10 secs and we didn't think of what we've done till we received that call I think.
Sorry for my English if you don't understand something just tell me.

The only reason it is slower is because of the mindset and state we are in. Lucid dream is cool, I heard that there is a deeper state, the dreamless deep sleep I have heard it is accessible but hard to do so, even harder than consciously enter a dream and that in this state if you enter it consciously is another different level, thoughts there are ridiculously powerful there are no or near to no limiting beliefs or so I have heard.
