When I first saw this animation I thought why the guy on the left was walking 10 feet away parallel to the sidewalk? and the 5 seconds later I got it.
Now THAT is what I call kick ass destiny. 1 more second of walking and the person would have passed the post and the car would have hit her.
If you get drunk one day and place a bet as to whether the telephone post or your car will break first... look at how much the post in the video moves when the car hits it.

Look again, you will see that the car is NOT heading toward the person but straight into the wall and then the car gets redirected toward the person walking.
In other words, if the wall wasn't there, the car would have passed 5 feet in front of the person without hitting her.
